Completely shut off the system by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 sec. Then turn the machine back on and immediately press and holding the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. Then follow the instructions on the screen. Jack E/NJ

PS If the ALT+F10 method doesn't seem to work, then shut down your machine again. Turn it on and immediately start tapping the F2 key to go into the BIOS menu. Make sure the D2D recovery option is enabled in the MAIN tab. Then press F10 to save settings and exit. Then try ALT + F10 method again as above.

You can't even F2 into the BIOS menu to set D2D recovery option in the MAIN tab? Jack E/NJ

Yeah. The recovery media may no longer be available for an 8 year old machine. Jack E/NJ
