ASPIRE HDMI to TV connection. Random picture quality loss

Hello all forum members from a newbie.

I have connected my Acer Aspire laptop to a Sony Bravia BX32 TV using the HDMI output in order to watch some movies stored on a USB memory stick or INTERNET streaming contents on the TV.

Picture and sound quality I get is, most of the time, great. But, randomly, the picture changes into a sort of sepia mode (sound have no problems), with a lot of pink and yellow tones. Much alike one of the colour components is missing (i do understand that cannot be the case, since HDMI use digital signals and not the old analog RGB signals). That fault can stay one hour without happening or can occur just after 5 minutes...

Sometimes the normal picture is back in after a few seconds but most of the times it is necessary to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable (TV side or laptop side doesn't matter).

I already tried two different HDMI cable (one I know it is perfectly working, because it was used to connect my STB to the mentioned TV), and different HDMI sockets on the TV, but the problem still remains.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, and forgive me any mistakes but English isn't my first language.

Does the problem only occur when streaming video or running it off USB? If you copy the video to the hard drive, does the problem still exist?

Have you tried a different media cable?

What model notebook are you using?

Are you using any adapters with the HDMI cable?

Thank you for your reply! Here is the info requested:

Does the problem only occur when streaming video or running it off USB?

No... it randomly occurs, no matter which media the computer is reading from.

If you copy the video to the hard drive, does the problem still exist?

    Yes

Have you tried a different media cable?

Yes... two different cables (and one I'm positevely sure it is fully functional)

Are you using any adapters with the HDMI cable?

    No

What model notebook are you using?

At the moment I dont have that info... Man Embarassed when I arrive home I will add that info (sorry)

BTW when the problem occurs on the TV, the picture showed in computer screen is showing without problems.

It seems some kind of videocard HDMI output problem... but I'm not too sure about that (well not abit...), because I expect if some bits are missing or scrambled the picture or sound would become garbish... and in this situation everything is running smooth, insync, almost perfect except for that strange colours
