I have an older monitor.  I purchased a USB Type C to VGA Adapter and I get nothing.  How do I fix this?  Do I need to purchase a new monitor?

Have you tried to turn the monitor on with the Fn+F5 toggle key combo? Jack E?NJ

OK. The specs call for a USB-C to HDMI adapter on the left side USB-C port, not USB-C to VGA. So I'm not sure a VGA adapter will function. The test is to plug the adapter into the left side USB-C port, then plug your monitor into the adapter. If no image appears on the monitor, then press ESC. You may then get an error message on the laptop screen. Jack E/NJ
