I apologize for the double post as it looks like this is a more appropriate section for my question. Moderators feel free to delete my post in the Legacy section.
I put off the Creator's Update for Windows 10 for months as I knew it broke the auto brightness feature on my computer (locked it at 100% with no way to change it).
Windows finally forced me to accept it. Well, not quite forced. But every time I rolled it back it was telling me it was ready to update again and I wouldn't get any more security updates if I didn't update it. So I've accepted the update. But of course, even on the latest version of the Creators update, brightness is still broken. There are no settings anywhere for it. The function keys don't do anything any more either.
I would give just about anything to get this resolved once and for all. I'm posting in this forum as somewhat of a last ditch effort.
To summarize...
Problem: The Windows 10 Creators Update takes all Brightness settings out of the operating system and locks it at 100% brightness.
Trials:- Updated drivers
- Downgraded drivers
- 3rd party options (worked prior to Creators, then have been broken in Creators)
- Intel GPU Control Panel
- Advanced Power Options
It's almost as if the update just stripped all brightness settings out of Windows completely with this update. It's very odd. Maybe Acer could release an updated driver or option that could fix it?
I've become pretty convinced there's simply no fix for this right now on this computer. But we'll see! TIA...
