85C wont really hurt your CPU. Assassins Creed: Origins is the newest and most intensive game that is out ATM, so it is not surprising it causes that much heat.

So if you wanna play it, keep the game.

I have a predator g5-793, played the same game. All i did was switch to medium - high settings and undervolted my CPU using ThrottleStop. Then my CPU temp was not going over 80 C degrees. No cooling pad, fans were not maxed as well but they were working properly at about 3900 RPM. Only downside is that it slightly decreases the performance of your laptop, but you don't really feel it in this game. You  would feel it in multiplayer games like CS:GO, Pubg , etc...

Undervolting the CPU has zero impact on performance, unless you go too "deep" which will result in lock up's and or BSOD.  If anything undervolting a system that is running hot and very close to Tjunction Max (point of shutdown due to over temp) will increase performance by reducing/preventing thermal throttling allowing all CPU cores to reach & hold their maximum turbo frequency under sustained loads.
