Why virtualization is turned off for E5-553-T4PT model when its CPU supports it natively?

The AMD A10 supports virtualization natively. Even the Insyde bios has options to enable it under the 'Advance Settings' section, but such a menu option is absent from the bios provided by ACER support/driver section.

I run a start-up and now is the time we were planning to develop a few Android Apps. But given that this Laptop doesn't have a way to enable virtualization, we cannot use Android Emulators to their true potential.

I do not see a reason why Acer cannot update the bios with either an option to enable virtualization or atleast enable it by default.

Why Acer cannot update the bios to enable virtualization or at least enable it by default?

My laptop is Acer E5-553-T4PT.  I am not able to enable Virtualization, there is no menu option in BIOS nor in Acer Support Software.

I have checked out on net, there are other community forum which provide solution to enable virtualization using H2OUV.EXE file, we need to share our bios vars.txt file with them.

Hope Acer Team provides a solution, otherwise they have cheated their own customers and lost their credibility.

Several things @dhammi71, please don't post in thread as old as this one, it was more than 2 years ago! Instead, create a new thread next time ;)

*If* there is no option to enable/disable virtualization in the BIOS, and you're running the latest one for your model; there is no Acer sanctioned way of doing it. Circumventing stuff, editing BIOS variables, or the firmware itself is out of the question; as per the ACUA (the terms we abide by as users of this community) it is forbidden.

Another thing is that this is a community forum, peer-to-peer so to speak; there are no Acer technicians here and much less people who work for them in their firmware teams. We're all, for the vastly most part, just enthusiasts and users in general. Search the net, a simple Google search (in English) already shows results on steps you may take to check if you could enable it via software if some settings are present in the BIOS apparently.

As for my take on it... I don't think they have cheated or lost anyone's credibility by disabling that feature in the processor. I mean, the laptop was never advertised as such (marketing materials didn't mention virtualization) and this kind of issue should have been taken to their support team contacting them directly (for example by phoning them) at the time, let's not forget we're talking about a laptop that's at least 4 years old.

And if in case it gives you some peace of mind, current laptops do ship with virtualization enabled and there are settings to turn it off in the BIOS if necessary.
