Hi guys, would appreciate any help in this matter, I have a Predator 15 G9-573, and there's an issue with the audio, it constantly crackles/pops, there is a few boots where its not as bad but then returns with a vengeance. But get this, the exact same phenomenon occurs when I use 3.5mm headphones, and also using an EXTERNAL USB 7.1 soundcard it still crackles/pops through that, the only way I can get clean audio out this thing, is NVIDIA's HDMI Audio through my TVs soundbar. Seems weird, huh? So we can definitively rule out the internal speakers/sub. What I initially thought is that the Realtek audio chip took a *****, but then I remembered, the USB soundcard has the same issue (The 7.1 card works with my Mac and spare PC just fine), oh and I have already updated chipset drivers etc.

Things I've Tried:

1. Reinstall OS (Tried Win 7, 10 and also Linux Ubuntu)
2. Tried different drivers, (Acers, Vanilla Realtek, and also Ubuntu's driver in that OS)
3. Tried "Turning off Enhancements" in HD Audio Manager etc
4. Unplugged all peripherals
5. Cry and swear profusely at the screen
6. Update and Reset BIOS/UEFI (Tried Legacy and UEFI with multiple OS')

Oh, and before I forget, when I have the splash/sound animation at boot enabled in BIOS the sound is also affected there, so I don't believe its an OS issue.

So, umm, yeah...Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

Also, the buggers out of warranty so no luck there :(

PS, sorry if this double posted, my initial one got deleted somehow :/

Had this issue with my Helios with Dolby.

What I did to fix was update two drivers in device manager in system devices...

    Intel Smart Sound...... Audio Controller
    Intel Smart Sound..... OED

That's the abbreviated names I don't remember exactly the whole names.

Thanks for the suggestion dude, the closest I have to that is High Definition Audio Controller, and also the issue stays no matter what OS its on, so I doubt its anything driver related... But thanks anyway!

UPDATE: Just to make matters even more confusing, I disabled iRST Power Management, and has helped quite a lot, still crackles etc but nothing as bad as before. Does that give anyone any clues?
