What Acer Aspire temps are you getting?

I have an Acer 5736Z-4460 and I was getting temps up to 170°F. It's 80°F outside right now and about 70°F indoors (AC is currently off). I opened up the laptop, replaced the old fan with a new one, wiped off the thermal paste, and applied GELID GC-Extreme Thermal Compound, and now I'm averaging 135-141°F. Are these temps normal for an Acer Aspire laptop?

Desktops have much bigger heat sinks & fans. Don't get a gaming laptop if those kinda temps worry you cuz you'll need tranquilizers. Jack E/NJ

So, it's natural for these laptops to run hot?

You call that hot? I'd say your CPU runs more like luke-warm to warm, not hot. I'm sure you'll 170°F again if it's being pushed near 100% usage for awhile.  Newer CPUs normally run 180°F to 200°F when pushed --- now that's hot to scalding. Jack E/NJ

o.O My desktop (quad-core) averages 125°F and 145°F when pushed... Depending on the outside temps. If it's like 45°F outside, then it'll run about 110°F. The temps you describe are way too hot for me. I would definitely be concerned if I were getting temps of 180°F. But that's just me.
