E5-575-33BM Internet connection issues

I bought this laptop 7 months ago. For the first few months, I had no problems. Since then, I have had to do a factory default reset at least 5 times. My internet connection keeps malfunctioning. I have another laptop, tablet and smart phone that are connected, so I know the internet connection is not the problem. I have reset my router/modem and contacted my ISP as according to Acer support, and this has still not worked. The only thing that works is uninstalling my network adapter, scanning for hardware changes and restarting my computer. I have had to do this about every 10 minutes and it is getting old really quickly. Is there any way to remedy this, or has anyone experienced similar issues?

    Hello Karica,

    1. I see that you did a lot of troubleshooting already. We can rule out router/cable/isp as those don't seem to be the problem.
    2. Are you on wireless or hard-wired connection?
3.. When you had to uninstall your network adapter, scan for hardware changes, it automatically installs the driver right?
         a) Speaking of driver, were you able to find the latest driver for that network adapter? Like instead of going through Microsoft update, where you able to go onto Acer or the manufacturer website and download the driver?
          b) what is the make and model of the network adapter?

You may disable or uninstall any antivirus or firewall application and check the wireless connectivity.

Please check the current BIOS version and see if you have the latest one listed at Acer support website.
    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6752?b=1
To check the BIOS version, type msinfo32 in the Windows search box and press Enter.

Also, check for Windows Updates and make sure have Fall Creators Update (RS3 or version 1709) installed.
To check the current version of windows, go to search bar and type winver
To check for updates: Start -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Updates.
Try set your connection as a metered connection so Windows does not allocate as many resource to trying to download and install updates.

Let us know the status of the issue. We will be glad to assist you further.

I checked my current BIOS and it says V1.25 3/3/2017. The current one listed on the link you provided is Fix ME security issue by updating to 11.8.50.3399 version 1.32. Should I download that? I do have the Fall Creators Update downloaded.
I recommend you updating to the latest bios. Make sure that the bios is compatible with your device.

I am on a wireless connection.
When I scan for hardware changes, it does automatically install the driver. I went onto the manufacturer website and did not see a place to download the latest driver, but under Device Manager, there is an option to update the driver.
It is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377.

Thank you both so much for your help and responses! I really, really appreciate it. I'm just not sure where to go from here.

Yes try to do an update to the driver under Device Manager. See if it updates the driver at all.
