My sister's Iconia W4 hasn't been used for a while (like 5 months or more), and now when we charge it, the led keeps blinking red. I've searched online and it says on the manual that it means the battery have a problem. When I try to power it on, it displays the Acer logo with the red battery. What can I do guys? What triggered this?

Sounds like you have a bad battery. It should be replaceable

Hmm yea I think so. But why all of a sudden my battery gets "bad"?

Had the same thing happen with my W3, was working fine and left for a few months. When I tried to bring up it failed with similar symptoms (suspect internal short because it also dragged the power supply down when plugged in - suspect why your red battery icon). New battery from Amazon and is fine now.

Mine came with a good switching power supply so could test by removing the battery and seeing if it would power up.
