High CPU load triggers plugged in-discharging

Title says it all, haven't had problems with my predator G9-591 for a year and just recently it won't charge during or after I do anything with a moderate to high CPU load. Click on the battery icon and it says "Plugged in, discharging". If I restart or unplug the cord, it will begin charging again but stop again if I start running, for example, Rainbow Six Siege. I tried the restart/press the battery reset button approach already. Would I be correct in assuming it's most likely a problem with my power cord and I need to get a new one?  Thanks

Does the battery discharges only while gaming?
Please try to charge and discharge the battery a full cycle. Power off the laptop and charge it to 100% , disconnect the chager and use the laptop till the charge drops to 5% . Again start charging. This would also confirm if the charger has any issues.
Discharging means that the laptop is consuming more power than PSU/motherboard is able to deliver. And then, when charge level of a battery goes down we need even more power to both continue working and charge the battery at the same time.
The only thing that has fixed the discharging issues is undervolting the CPU and GPU.. This helps with both temperatures and stable CPU and GPU clock speeds.. Nothing else to date has had any positive impact...

The battery supplements the system if needed, it's working as intended. I get this a lot on gaming laptops in general.

@Sharanji yes it only discharges when I run a mildly intense or more game. I understand why it's discharging, I just don't understand why it was able to run the same games for a year with no problems and then suddenly this begins happening. I wouldn't mind the discharging except it acts the same way in game as it does when only on battery, like it's not plugged in at all which results in extreme fps drops. I'll do the full discharge like you suggested and update later, thanks for the input.Rares95 said:

@Rares95, yeah I understand why the battery is discharging but it makes the laptop act in game like it's not plugged in at all, which is pretty bad for fps as you probably know. I also don't understand why it was ok for a year but then suddenly starts having problems running the same games.
