Dust cleaning and fan speed

Hello,

I really love this laptop, can play everything on ultra settings and super fast. I have 2 questions, is it detrimental to have the fans run at max when gaming? I have undervolted by -0.125 and i have the predator helios model 300 with the aeroblade fans, but when set on auto in the fan settings with coolboost on it hovers in the high 70s, low 80s on the cpu which seems high to me...is it okay to run the fans at close to max speed when gaming to keep temps lower? I'm not concerned about noise since i wear headphones but if this will cause fans to break rapidly...

Also, is there a way to clean out dust from the fans without opening the laptop? It is only 2 weeks or so old but i would like to prevent dust build up since there is only one exhaust vent for hot air. Would using compressed air for the exhaust work? I dont want to break the fans or laptop :/

Thanks! :)

Having the fans run at max speed all the time will certainly shorten their life span. However, it is really unnecessary to run them at max because it does not help that much anyways. As long as there is consistent airflow, faster airflow wont make them go down that much (maybe 1 or 2C).

In my sticky guide, I have listed any CPU temp under 85C is pretty much OK to the point where heat is not going to damage anything.

As for dust, the only option I see would be to use a can of compressed air to blow the dust out. If you are worried about breaking the fans, like you said, just don't shove the straw on the compressed air inside before releasing the air. Just squeeze gently and then insert the straw, blow out the dust.
