Hello, i have a 3632qm cpu on my laptop and single core performance is reallly important for my games. I would like to know if i can upgrade to 3840qm and 3740qm cpu. I presume thermals wont be a problem.

Hi,
There's no way to find out except by trial and error method, BIOS update doesn't provide any information about the CPU upgradability, so if you still want to try the CPUs you intended, make sure it can be returned if it doesn't work. The upgrade will be a experimental.

You can upgrade to i7-3720QM and it will work but i7-3840qm and 3740qm may or may not work, I couldn't find anyone has done similar upgrade.

Is there a way to tell the cpus i meantioned wont work by looking at the specs? Would installing the latest bios (2.28 for v3-771g laptops) help?brummyfan2 said:Hi,
