Hi,

My G9-791 won't turn on without the adapter plugged in. The battery shows as fully charged on the notification area battery icon.

If I remove the power lead it turns off immediately and won't turn back un until the power lead is plugged back in.

I have tried the battery reset trick and that didn't fix it. I can't drain the battery and it isn't removable.

Does anyone know why it won't turn on ?

Have you removed the access panel on the bottom of the system that allows access to the memory and hard drive? If so, make sure it is secured firmly to the system. There is an intrusion switch that will not allow the battery to operate properly if that door is not secured. If the door is secured and you still have the problem, I suggest you contact Acer in your region to set the product up for repair.

I did have the access panel removed, so that may explain why it didn't work. I didn't realise the panel had to be in place.

It eventually stopped turning on altogether, even with the power adapter connected, so I ended up sending it to Acer for repair.

I have the same problem Simon experienced. I haven't opened my laptop. All I just did is play with it while plugged in. It's just 2 months old from the day of purchased.

    Hi,
You could try a battery reset, switch off the laptop, remove AC adapter, follow the instructions in the video, once finished let the laptop to rest for 15-20 mins before starting again.
