I guess an external GPU can be paired through USB-C if thunderbolt 3 is available in this model.

No, the GPU is soldered to the motherboard.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Even if it was possible to remove the soldered GPU and replace it with GTX 1080, I highly doubt it will work. Plus GTX 1080 consumes more power, it is a bigger chip and by any means it won't work.

second question: is it possible to run 1080 mobile perfectly?

You can't run GTX 1080 on your device.
