Its frustating! They haven't mentioned the type of display in the specs ie. (IPS or  TN)
They have said this on the Aspire 5 website:
"Crisp, true-to-life colors come alive on the 15.6” Full HD1 1080p resolution display with IPS technology." But also mentioned that features may vary with model . Does anyone know which type of display it uses
Here's the product:

Its an IPS screen, only question is: which panel model?
According to available data A515 comes with two display models: 1366 x 768px TN panel and a 1920 x 1080px IPS panel.
So, your 1920x1080 display is an IPS panel, possibly from one of these panel models:
    BOE BOE06c6 (NV156FHM-N42)
    or
    AU Optronics B156HAN06.1

But This website says Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-52R1 has TN Screen
    cnet.com/products/acer-aspire-5/specs/

And the second website says the same model has IPS display:

If you can believe this ACER site https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.GPCAA.001 Nonick is correct as the ComfyView is a matte IPS screen. Jack E/NJ

Yes but as of I have heard, Comfyview is nothing but anti-glare matte surface

An IPS should lose little or no contrast when viewed straight on vs 45° . I suggest that you contact newegg to confirm it's a matte IPS that they're offering. Jack E/NJ

According to Acer specs: 1366x768px screen resolution models have TN display, and FullHD 1920x1080 have IPS display.
Two reviews (both IPS display): *remove blank space before //

If youre in serious doubt - the best thing would be to find a store with A515 and ask them to turn on the laptop and start HWINFO application (https: //www.hwinfo.com/). It will reveal display data - panel manufacturer and model. I went throught the same procedure with A717-71G before purchase, since i wanted to check the screen and touchpad. After i was certain that the screen was IPS and touchapd wasnt "clacky" i bought the laptop.

Weird, my Acer Aspire A515-51G-59GZ comes with a 1920x1080 display but it's just a LCD screen not a IPS display..

MauriceNL  Both IPS & TN displays are also known as LCD screens. And thehy can both have the same 1920x1080 resolutions. The difference between them is in their viewing angle behavior. Jack E/NJ
