H5380BD stuck in VGA mode

After my kids broke the remote, it's been running fine for over a year just auto-detecting the HDMI output from the amplifier/mixer without issues. Suddenly today it's decided to stay locked in VGA mode, and as I don't have a VGA cable its basically completely useless as there's no way without the remote control to switch input modes again. I've tried all combinations of restarts, power cycling, even verifying that the output from the amplifier, and the HDMI cables are all fine. It's just the projector left to blame now.
  1.  is there any way to manually reset the projector so that it cycles through the modes looking for an active input again?
  2. where can I get my hands on some replacement remote control for this?
thanks, urgently needed for the entertainment over Christmas to come back :disappointed:

For others looking for this, simply hold the main power button on the projector for a few seconds - it will be possible to step through the modes without needing a remote control.
