My AM3900G-U3802 will not take the Win 10 Fall Creator's Update. Is there a solution to this issue? This was a pretty good PC but if it won't take the update I am stuck with disabling all Windows updates. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that is 15 years old that accepted this update.
I have tried downloading the ISO and burning it to a disk, I have burned the ISO to a thumb drive and the machine just won't accept the update.
Any help would be appreciated.

Correction, current version is 1607 not 1703. Windows is trying to update to 1709. 1st update reboot, the pc locks up with a black screen, Power down and restart, update resumes at 75%, goes to 81%, locks up. Power down, reboot and Windows reverts to previous version 1607.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I have exactly the same issue with an Acer M1935 desktop PC. Black screen lockup, update resumes at 75% and hangs at 82%, then Windows starts recovery. Must be some driver issue?

Yes, it was a pretty good PC. And still is. Just not on Win10. Win10 updates are quite unlike previous updates & service packs of earlier Windows versions. Some of its major updates are like totally new versions --- might as well be called Windows 13 or higher --- and can wreak havoc on software drivers for hardware devices that didn't even exist when your elderly Inspiron was made. So I'd consider myself lucky that 1703 didn't take on the M3900. In fact, if it were mine, I'd update it back to Win7 ASAP. At least this way, I'd be sure of having Win7 support for at least the next two years whereas that for recent major Win10 mods might end in the next few months! Jack E/NJ

@matthiash I guess you weren't so lucky. What was the factory-installed WinVer on your M1935? Win8.1 or Win7? Jack E/NJ

Originally Windows 7 Home was installed, and later on it was upgraded to Windows 10 ver. 1511 during the free upgrade offer period.
But I finally managed to upgrade to ver. 1709 after removing the PCI-E Anatel wifi card and replacing it by a more recent D-Link USB adapter!

Well, congrats on that! Your new USB adapter should last at least till April 9th next year when 1709's support ends. And if it doesn't, well you can just go out and upgrade it again to an even more recent one. That's the Microsoft way! 8^)  Jack E/NJ

The solution is by removing the Wireless NIC. That fixed the same issue from trying to install Windows 10 Version 1803.
I want to say thanks JackE for his troubleshooting and finding the solution.
