My laptop (Aspire E15) is not shutting down properly after BIOS and drivers update

Hello,
I have a 2014 Aspire E15 (E5-571-56UQ).
A couple of days ago, I upgraded its BIOS from v1.04 which came with it, to the latest version found on Acer website which at the time of writing, is v1.32.
Then I went through all devices in Device Manager (Windows 10) and updated the drivers automatically.

Now I am having an issue when I shutdown the laptop.
When I click to shutdown the laptop from the Start menu.
It shows me the Windows 10 Shut Down screen.
Then the laptop display turns off.
But the blue light power indicator on the laptop is still ON.
I wait for many minutes but it's still ON.
The laptop is not responsive, and the only way to turn it off is to hold the power button for a couple of seconds.

This never happened to me before I upgraded the BIOS.
Where could the problem be?

Thanks a lot :)

It could be because of the new BIOS or something(a driver you have updated) might be causing an error preventing the system from properly shutting down.

You can run the system in safe mode to see if it will be able to shut down.

To enter in safe mode, open run command and type msconfig and go to 'boot' tab. Mark safe boot and press ok. To exit from safe mode go to the same place and unmark safe boot.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

@ven98 thanks for the reply. What do you suggest to permanently fix the problem?
What specific driver can cause this issue?
And if it's a BIOS issue, where can I report it so maybe the developers can investigate it and release an update..

Any driver can be causing this. You should contact Acer support to report a BIOS bug.

Does the problem occur when in safe mode?

Go to Device Manager and rollback your Intel Management Engine interface driver.  It's a known issue with Haswell-ULT and Windows 10.  Or some people just download and install the Windows 8.1 Intel Managment Engine interface driver a/k/a Turbo Boost driver 9.5.24.1790

Another option is to just backup your files and install Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 10.  (Which is what I did).

And get your Windows 8.1 drivers from below......you don't have Broadwell.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

@JordanB I rolled back the driver in the Device Manager, and the issue seems to be gone.
Thanks a lot for your help (Y)
