my Aspire E-14 laptop suddenly died just after 2months from my 1 year warranty

Hi, I would just like to share my disappointment with Acer. I purchase my Acer laptop last October 2016 as a BACK UP LAPTOP for my work since I am working as a home based onliner. As mentioned it is seldom used because i have 2 other laptops (Asus K55V & Dell icore3 which I am using everyday). It is only used when printing some of my daughters school projects. The saddest part is that I just had my last payment last November 2017 for the full payment of the said laptop. And now it is dead. I bought it to one of the service centers in our area and they told me that the mother board is shorted and cannot be fixed. The mother board needs replacement and it will cost me 15 to 20 thousand pesos. It's like buying a new laptop again! 

I haven't even use this laptop for my work and not even use it for games as well. It is seldom used and the mother board crashed! I don't understand why this happened. I hope Acer will take action and help me with my situation now.

And another thing, is the warranty only 1 year? I found in your website that it is 2 years....

    1year is the international warranty from Acer and if it says 2 years on the retailer's website, then you have 2years warranty in the country you bought the laptop from.
    Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

    Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    So what can you suggest about my current problem with my laptop now? If it is only 1 year warranty, then it is not covered and will have to pay up to 20 thousand pesos. I have handle it with care and was not able to utilize using it because I have saved it as a back up laptop and suddenty the motherboard crashed? I thought Acer products are of good quality but I was wrong... What can you suggest I would do now?

    After pressing the switch inside the pinhole, leave the laptop to rest for about 30 minutes. If the motherboard is dead there is really nothing that can be done to fix it.
    Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:

    I have the same problem with my e5-475G. Battery reset didn't help and the service center says that they need to replace the motherboard. Luckily i have three years warranty (under the promo when i bought it) so they will replace it for free. It's best to let them confirm if your laptop is still under the warranty. You can also send an email to Acer Ph Support Team at aphi.service@acer.com.
