There is no way to know. I updated to windows creators when it came out and had to roll back to anniversary, because windows creators wasn't really working well. When fall creators update comes out, you will be able to install it and if your device doesn't work well with it, you can easily go back to previous version.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Hi, I registered because of this creator update issue.
I tried to run the update 4 times yet, and every times it fails, CPU overheats and the machine shuts down after a few seconds.

Microsoft tells me that the hardware provider should have updated its stuff before. And says that my laptop is not in the list of tested devices. Although it runs on i5 and should be always usable.

And there is no way to avoid that 1703 update, or you can not get any security updates anymore, even the 1607 ones.

Any plans to send out an Acer update, to be able then to update to Creator?
    Thanks

Did the Microsoft wizards have you to look for any restore points? Jack E/NJ

They did not, but I just did and for some reason that was turned off under system protection.

Well, there goes that idea. Can you still coldboot F2 into the BIOS menu OK? Jack E/NJ

Are the USBs MBR or GPT partitioned? Jack E/NJ

All 3 USB drives are MBR according to MiniTool Partition. The level 2 Tech I spoke with used Rufus to try and install the ISO file of windows 10.

Did you consider an ALT+F10  factory-reset from the hidden recovery partition if it's still intact? Jack E/NJ

Yes that takes me to a blue recovery screen that tells me my computer needs to be repaired. I have tried to reset with and without files neither work

If you can still get into Control Panel OK, does Disk Management reveal anything unusual? How about Device Mgr? Jack E/NJ

well I got the bios to recognize my sandisk recovery usb, not sure how it just appeared.  It went through the process and then said there was a problem with the reset.

Good. That happened because of the superfull moon today.  Do Disk Mgt or Device Mgr show anything unusual with the HDD? Jack E/NJ

Is your recovery USB still recognized? If so, can you try to boot from it again and maybe get to the prompt in order to run an HDD checker? Jack E/NJ

just tried the recovery from the USB again and it got to 99% and says there was a problem recovering your PC.
