I found the problem the Predator was placed on the top of another laptop (lenovo y580) and some how when it was placing entirely will go on sleep mode only when lifting the front side of the predator will make it works again i guess there is a sensor or a magnet that thinks that the screen is closed and make it go to sleep ... what a mysterious case ... anyway thanks guy for the info and hopefully will help others user that will have my same issue.

This isn't right, so I advice to contact Acer support and request a repair.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

you can try to tighten a little the bottom screws but looks like the battery connector is not well plugged.
    I'm not an Acer employee.

  • In other threads, if you place a phone with fast charging to the left of the touchpad (Samsung Galaxy S8+ is mine), it causes the laptop screen to turn off. I am guessing there is similar interference happening with the other laptop. Quite strange and interesting all at the same time.
