For almost a day now, my laptop won't turn on... Instead the orange (charging) light is on even when the charger isn't connected. Irrespective of what I do, the light just won't change to blue and neither is the USB port functioning!! Based on some of the comments that I read, I let the laptop be; hoping that it will discharge and the light will disappear but that hasn't worked. PLEASE HELP!!!

You can perform a battery reset. Here is how: https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset
If your battery is removable, just remove it. After pressing the reset button inside the pinhole/removing battery it is better to leave the laptop for about 20-30 minutes to rest, before you power it on.

If resetting battery doesn't help, you will have to contact Acer support in your region.

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Thank you @ven98.. But it's an Acer Switch and the battery is not removable.... Moreover, there isn't any battery reset pinhole!

Ops, sorry my bad. Take the display/tablet off the keyboard and hold power button and volume down button altogether for about 30seconds. Leave the device for 10minutes and the power on.

Hi SId0310. Did you try to let the battery drain and restart it?
