Total crash - auto repair won't work

Hi All

Aspire x3-710 complete crash. A bit stressful, one can guess. I feel like I've tried it all !

Windows 10 won't start. Auto repair starts and attempts to repair. It fails and offer me the 'panic page'.

'Panic page' won't do anything

- Reinstall Windows 10 - with or without files. Starts process, but halts after 10 secunds with an error message.

If I try and start in safemode, Auto repair just loops.

I've tried all the tricks in the book I can think of and through Google search :

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

- Get an Error 50 > I try to delete miniNT with RegEdit, but after boot miniNT is there again.

bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

- To no avail.
bootrec.exe /fixmbr

- To no avail.
bootrec.exe /fixboot

- To no avail.

chkdsk /r c:

- To no avail.
chkdsk /r d:

- To no avail.

My Acer Aspire was not delivered with any install discs.

Acer Aspire is connected to the net via cable.

1) download a windows 10 iso (x64 - 64bit) using Microsof tool:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2) download Rufus:
http://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=en_US
plug an USB flash drive (8GB ), run Rufus then:
select ISO image from the dropdown menu near "Create a bootable disk"
click on the little icon on the right and browse to the windows 10 downloaded iso file
as Partitions scheme select "GPT partition scheme for UEFI"
as File system select "FAT32"
click on Start
wait until it finish, then unplug your USB flash drive and plug it to your laptop.

boot to BIOS pressing F2 and search about F12 boot menu and enable it, then press F10 to save and exit.

at next boot press F12 and then select the USB flash drive, select custom windows install and then delete every partition on the HDD, once done, continue with windows installation.

No I dont think the HDD is gone. The different checks I've done turned out perfect.

Plus.. it does load / loop the auto repair screen.

It's like something core has gone missing. Can't craft a recovery CD with RECDISC. Files are missing.

Tried to create a CD with a small compustick - successfully - BUT I couldn't make beloved Acer Aspire load the disc. Though I disabled 'boot safety' in BIOS.

ok but you said that window 10 installation failed too.

if you don't need to recover files, i suggest you to completly wipe your HDD and then do a windows 10 clean install.

How ? The reinstall in Auto repair does not work

I don't have any discs.

I went to our local PC pusher in Etaples (France), and he said it's not uncommon some software screws up Windows like this.

(I think it was an installation of Magix Music Maker 2003 or Magix PlayR XXL 2003 which trickered it).

PC guy told me he could reintall Windows fresh for 65€

Thanks for the input.

I won't try it out this time. Where I live internet sucks. 8GB will take two days. I've delivered my PC at my local PC pusher.

I am in the same situation. The only thing is that i need to save my data in my 512gb m.2 ssd card that came with my laptop. I cant wipe them off. Any ideas?

1. Boot your Windows 10 media
2. After you select your language, click "repair your computer"
3. Navigate to command prompt
4. At the command prompt, type notepad.exe
