Is it normal to get 95C??? I played FM2015 and it reached to 95C in 10 mins, so I shut down the program. and it become 45~50C. I bought it from Amazon about 3months ago. I didn't repasting or undervolting yet. I am not sure only mine is weird or it is normal. please let me know

  • If it only hit 95 and not 97, it is quite normal depending on room temperature and air flow. I advise buying a laptop cooling pad for these laptops to keep temperatures down. The CPU will throttle at 97C.

I am not sure it gonna hit 97C because I immediately stopped the game....
  • If it hits 97C, it wont ruin the cpu, but it will throttle.

No its not normal and yes over time it will damage the cpu. Just learn how to undervolt and repaste the cpu. I did both to mine and got the temps down while gaming from 95 to 65 max when running any game at ultra.

I need to repaste mine too. I bought some Arctic MX4 to do it.

Remember, the life expectancy of a cpu is 10+ years, so even if the cpu life is cut in half 5 years is still plenty of time. However it shouldn't hit those temperatures on a new laptops that costs $1k+.

Did you have a video to help guide you or did you just go for it?

I only found one video online in regards the acer predator for a repaste so I watched that one and just got a general idea from other laptop repaste videos. Other than that you're on your own and will just have to go for it. But if lf you are really nervous about doing it I suggest bringing it to a laptop repair specialist and have them do it. To me I don't see it as should or shouldn't I repaste it. It's a must. My fans don't even bother coming on when I play gta5 in ultra with everything maxed out, whereas before the repaste and undervolt they would be constantly on even at minimum settings on any game. At idle my cpu is 25-28 degrees before it was 40+. I too was going to get the mx4 but went instead with coolmaster nano particle stuff due to mx4 not available for shipment to Ireland but I would say that mx4 is just as good as the stuff I got if not better. Good luck.

I did the repasting today actually and my temperatures are insanely better. In a game that I played with a cooling pad ran 75-95C, now without the cooling pad I am getting a max of 65, just absolutely insane. Now, my idles are not that low but rarely is my computer completely idling because I keep many background programs going. I used MX4 and it works great. I had arctic Silver 5 but it is conductive so it could of fried the laptop if it came into contact with the solder.

Yes. This laptop is great, but repasting is basically required, but it is not extremely difficult, just take your time. Though I did have a couple screws that were not very nice to me, but eh.
