FlyingCarpet,
Did you purchase the XG270 in the USA? If not, where did you purchase? I'm pretty sure all of the XG270 sold in USA support 144 Hz, but there might be some sold outside of USA that don't support 144.I'm not an Acer employee.0 -

Can you post a screenshot of Nvidia control panel?
Since we are troubleshooting, can you please make sure that your XG270HU is the only monitor that you have connected to your graphics card.
To open the Nvidia control panel.....- Right‐click the Windows desktop, then click NVIDIA Control Panel

I circled the button that you press. After you press the button, then select "choose files".

They changed the forum around so you can't just post a screenshot. You have to type a minimum number of letters on your keyboard too. I can't remember what the minimum is. I guess you should type at least 15 characters. dasd aasd dasd aasd dasd
If you've got it working and were able to change it to 144, you don't have to post a screenshot. It's ok.I'm not an Acer employee.0 -
I didn't got it working, but it says 2560 x 1440 (native) and 75 hz and i can choose 60 hz.0

And there is no choose file if i click that

It's ok. You don't need to post a screenshot. I think you should contact Acer Support Hungary and tell them the problem. They can look up in their database your monitor's serial number and tell you if the monitor is 144. Some XG270HU monitors sold in Europe are only 75 Hz maximum. If you confirm with official Acer Support Hungary that your monitor is capable of 144, please let me know and I'll try to help.
Please contact Acer Support by telephone or email.

I know I'm late to the party, I have the same issue but I'm not sure if I have a XG270HUA (HUA being the important bit) since on the monitor itself it just says "XG270HU" so is there another reason why the refresh rate is limited?
Or am I simply a broken man hoping he didnt buy the wrong monitor XD0 -

I'm pretty sure you need to use Display Port cable to get 144 hz
Here's some Acer links to help with Model#/Serial#

Here's the USA link for the 144 hz on amazon.
Here's the UK link for the 75 hz on amazon
But it's important to note that if you read the reviews or Q/A on UK amazon it will be confusing because at one time they sold both 75 hz and 144 hz on the same amazon page. That's why you'll see some confusion in the comments, reviews and Q/A
That's all I have. You can start a new topic if you can't figure it out....and someone might be able to help based on the first 10 digits of your serial number. But don't post your entire serial number. Just the first 10 of your serial number.
