Greetings,

I am trying to install the SATA cable for my laptop since it did not come with a SATA cable already installed. I have removed all the screws from the back just as the guide on acer website indicates, but I am having trouble prying open the back, and I am a little confused about the process of doing that. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhbzjRCKQSk the person is able to remove the back panel by applying minimal force. In my case, the back panel does not show any signs that it wants to come off. In addition, I have tried the method posted on the acer website, which indicates that I need to use a plastic prying tool in order to remove the back panel, but again, the panel doesn't seem to budge at all, and I do not want to break anything. Can someone please help me? I'm getting really frustrated with this.

Thank you

    Hi,
The person in the video has already released the tabs and that's why it comes off easily, however, you have to apply a little force to release the tabs, if you are stuck in one point, start prying from another point, you may end up with one or two broken tabs(like myself :anguished: ) but the screws will hold the back cover in place, I have attached few illustrations to help you.

Thanks for the illustrations I will try again soon. Hopefully I won't break any tabs that would make me feel terrible . Just one more thing, when you use a pry tool, are you pushing up towards the back panel or the other direction? thanks again

    Hi,
No problem, once you inserted the pry tool in the gap, just twist the pry tool while pushing the cover upwards with other hand.
