My X3990 randomly crashes when I'm watching video. Particularly HD or even something that has been made in 4k.
Obviously this is an issue that I need looked at. I am going to be doing more video editing in the future and so my question is:
Should an x3990 with a spec of i7-2600cpu @3.40GHz 64 bit with 6gb of ram and an AMD Radeon 6450 generally be able to come with either viewing or editing 4k?
Thanks

The maximum resolution that this GPU can support is 2560x1600.
By your PC crushing, do you mean that you get BSOD ?Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
-Model number
-Part number(not required, but helpful)
-CPU
-GPU-Operating systemHelios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Then I would try reinstalling the graphics driver and making sure it is up to date. I assume your BIOS is up to date.Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:

You can mess about with the graphics settings as it could be because that something is enabled, which is better to be disabled and the opposite.Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:

To be honest I'm not sure if the bios is up to date as it's never something I've wanted to tamper with. Windows updates are totally straightforward but as far as the bios I'm not sure I'm afraid.
