I recently bought an Acer chromebook r11 cb5-132t-c9 which is Google Play enabled by Default on Paper but it isnt actually available on the device.

The chrome os version on this device is as follows:

Version 52.0.2743.120 (64-bit)
Platform 8350.79.0 (Official Build) stable-channel cyan
Firmware Google_Cyan.7287.57.82

When I check for updates on the os it says its fully upgraded
how do i get access to Google Play??

    Thanks for the reply.

The issue was with the wifi I connected my chromebook to.

It was a mobile Hotspot and the chromebook woudnt update as I was using a mobile network.

The problem was fixed as soon I connected it to my Home network and the device automatically got the update downloaded and prompted me to restart the device.

No more problems with this excellent product I sure am loving every bit of it :-)

I had the same issue with a brand new unit built in January.

It isn't fully updated. The current OS version is 57.

Set the timezone, date and time - manually, not automatic network.  If it isn't close to right, update won't work.

Scroll to the bottom of Settings/Advanced and do a Powerwash.

When it comes back up after reset, do a hard reset by simultaneously holding down the refresh key and the power switch button.

Check the timezone, time and date. Adjust if needed.

Check the OS version and if it hasn't updated, check for an update.

Wait a few hours then check again.

    After it has updated,

Look under Settings, just above People. Check the box.
