My acer aspire laptop will not connect to the wifi on any other level than the one where my router is situated even though other devices will. My home network won't even appear on the name of available networks. Please help!

Do other networks appear ? Are they on the same channel as your home network ?

Yes, I'm not sure if they are on the same channel but I have tried changing it and nothing has changed.

You need to know what your environment looks like. Wifi Analyzer and Scanner from WebProvider is a free tool on the Microsoft Store and seems to do what you need. Can identify nearby stations by channel number and signal strength. That will show if you are getting overridden.

Tried what ? Evidently not what I suggested. Do we need someone who speaks French ?

At this point we do not know which laptop, what operating system, which wireless card, which drivers for the card, what router, or how crowded the environment is. All are needed for a meaningful answer.
