Anyone know the last time that the 575-33bm was available on the website. It seems that Amazon is the only place to get it. TIA.

"... was available on the website"   presume you're referring to Acer store webpages ?

About 4 wks back I was interested in this model, actually placed an order on Ama'.com  but then researching, contradicting Ama' forecast shpg plan,  and realizing I've never ordered a backordered consumer product before -- cancelled !   A couple days after cancelling i noticed they were now backordered up to 2 months !

Considering the prob' I have with the Acer unit (F5-573G-58XS),   I subsequently purchased from a local vendor,  I'm 'doubly'  glad I did cancel the Ama' online order !!

So you are saying once the order was in your amazon cart it indicated that it was backordered? It is in my cart now and it says in stock but I do not want to order from Amazon. Something about the Amazon.com Return Policy about this puts me off. I thought that I had a "trail" period to return no questions asked but it clearly states towards the bottom of the page, "You may return any new computer purchased from Amazon.com that is "dead on arrival," arrives in damaged condition, or is still in unopened boxes..." It says nothing about returning if I think this inexpensive model is garbage.

"....So you are saying once the order was in your amazon cart it indicated that it was backordered?..

Actually I had ignored the ramifications of their prev. statement  3-6 wks shpg date !   Then after i placed&paid for the order,  I received their forecast itenerary which contained some contradicting dates which had me looking closer . . . . . I can't say anymore as this is a ACER site, not amazon.

But i can say, I am glad I found a awesome Acer model (purchased) from a local (international) vendor, but alas with a frustrating/perplexing/debilitating  issue  ;(    IMHO

Hi,I have this model and ordered it from amazon.I have been ordering items from amazon for around 5 years and they have always been good about returns. If the item has not been damaged by you ,you have 30 days to return an item. You can even print out a return label on their returns page. This is a decent computer for the price.I added a SSD and 4 more gigs of ram to it.It is not a heavy gamer but will play lighter games.I have not had any problems with it.It is very popular on amazon and I am sure right now with back to school they are pretty backed up with orders as it is very good for the price.

I replied once to your post but I beleive becasue I mentioned the River and provided a link the post got nuked. If you go to the page where they are selling about half way down where it discucusses returns it says nothing about there being a 30 day return policy only that it can be returned if the item arrives damaged or is unopened.

Hey ,sorry I meant if the item is damaged in any way when you recieve it you have 30 days to return it.Go to their help section to read about returns. You can even return the item if you just plain dont like it.It appears that amazon have these in stock again .I always look to see if amazon is the supplier and they are for this laptop.Amazon has always honored my returns.I even got a full refund on two items that I never recieved from other suppliers that they fullfill.Amazon is really easy to work with.I hardly ever order an item that isnt supplied by amazon.com anymore, but when I have I have generally had a good experience.

I have opened items and sent them back.Just keep original packaging ,pack it back up then print out a return lable, give a reason if you want and send it back.A person must be able to see what they have bought to see if it is damaged, unless the packaging itself is damaged and you decide you do not want to keep it because of that then just return right away.I have gotten a lot of stuff where the post office or ups doesnt handle them right.I have never returned an item because the outside package is damaged but you can.

Thanks for the reply. Right. I have been to their help section/ return policy and I had read that as well about a 30 day return. I have purchased on the big A before but have never had to return anything. I guess my concern was that on the page where they are selling the aspire e15 e5-575-33bm (have you visited it? do you see where they outline reasons for returns? ) where I indicated about half way down where they discuss returns there is no mention of a 30 day return policy for any other reason then indicated and I was concerned that that might supercede the big A's normal 30 day no questions asked return policy. Do you see why I was concerned? What do you think? TIA.

Hi, was this your concern ?

"Amazon.com Return Policy:You may return any new computer purchased from Amazon.com that is "dead on arrival," arrives in damaged condition, or is still in unopened boxes, for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Amazon.com reserves the right to test "dead on arrival" returns and impose a customer fee equal to 15 percent of the product sales price if the customer misrepresents the condition of the product. Any returned computer that is damaged through customer misuse, is missing parts, or is in unsellable condition due to customer tampering will result in the customer being charged a higher restocking fee based on the condition of the product.( I have never been charged a restocking fee} This is all pretty straight forward.

    Amazon.com will not accept returns of any desktop or notebook computer more than 30 days after you receive the shipment.{ Be sure to return it right away if something is wrong}

New, used, and refurbished products purchased from Marketplace vendors are subject to the returns policy of the individual vendor." (Other vendors)

So to know if the computer is dead on arrival you must open it and try to turn it on.Since this is shipped directly from amazon and not any other vendor you would go with amazon policy. If you did want to return the computer you have 30 days to get a full refund of the product from the day it arrived although you would know within a few days if something is wrong.. They show you a number of reasons for return such as example "ordered wrong product" , and more, or you can state your own reason. Really I have never had a problem with amazon at all, but if you have reservations then you maybe shouldn't order from them.

Hope this has been helpful for you.Don't really know what else to add to this..Good luck..

I hope I have been of some help..

Also would like to add that I have never returned a computer to them but have read of others doing it with no hassles.I own 2 laptops from them, this model and a dell. and haven't had any troubles with them. They are both currently running windows creators most current updates.
