Predator Sense Software Issue with G6-710 Has not been Solved

I find it funny that the last two threads are marked solved when after reading Anyone with the issue has really had nothing solved.  I'm sorry but i've been having the same issue   The predator Sense software is not working properly.  The faster and turbo overclock buttons are not doing anything at all, not even changing the numbers in its own window, and i cant get the growl lights on to save my life.  It all worked before the update.  it was that very second i clicked the install button for the update it stopped.  So I find it hard to believe it was windows updates or any other nonsense that's causing issues here.

There has been nothing from Acer - **** or anyone else from Acer that has been remotely helpful in solving this issue.  Simple fact of the matter is People are buying these computers that are suppose to be competing with Dells Alienware in some way (hence the name) but really there is no real competition when you look at Alianware's top end stuff.

Acer isn't living up to one of the biggest selling points of their machine, nothing seems to be addressed after a month +, slowly ppl are realizing it with even fewer posting about it, yet we haven't recieved one helpful explanation of direction on what to do or  how to use this "beast" to its full potential without voiding warranties.  Oh but the last two posts have been "solved".  Is there an UNSOLVED BUTTON?  I'd like to click it please.!!!

If this machine were made to handle over-clocked processing then whats the hold up, its not happening to all machines, just some right?  let me over-clock my computer and crank out some of the results i paid for.    After this issue with the  PC thats pretty much souring my satisfaction and amazon review for the product (yet it can be saved with a true and honest  "Solved" at the end of these posts pertaining to such,.

To those of you who aren't having the problem with your G6 710, well something from somewhere is smiling upon you with butterflies and glittery rainbows.  ill go ahead and give it a few more days with the amazon review before i give in and give myself up for abduction to Alienware.

I feel your frustration man... I will say that I marked my thread as solved because the Acer dude answered my question about sharing the suggestions with the development team, which was my original ask.  This isnt some larger conspiricy of acer people marking threads closed  etc.

I should also mention that while I share your frustration with the lack of movement on the predator sense software, you can get it to mostly work.  You basically need to uninstall it and reinstall, if you read my thread again I lay out how I did this I believe, others have discussed it on this forum as well... I did this about 2-3 times and it finally did what it was supposed to, mostly.

The machine is solid, its very fast, I rarely get anything under 60fps on everything including the Division... for the money it's a good combo of parts and features... should the predator sense software work out of the box, absolutely...  it is a feature they've been selling right?

Agree this needs to be fixed. I bought this computer a couple months ago for video editing old VHS tapes and the Predatorsense program shows an everchanging clock speed and never responds to any changes from the buttons. Sometimes it shows 1037 mhz, then a few seconds later it will be 3328, etc.

Big disappointment for what this computer cost.

I got my GX-792 (i7-7820HK) working! Looks as though there is a problem that Predator Sense sees the CPU as locked.

Here is what I did (I don't know if all these steps are needed but these are what I did):

    Download and install Intel XTU

Close ALL Programs (there will be a forced restart ahead)

    1. Open C:\ProgramData\OEM\Predator Sense

    Capture.PNG

    2. Copy/Overwrite i7-7820HK all *.xtu into i7-6820HK

    3. Open Turbo.xtu with Intel XTU (it should fail and give error about importing profile)

    4. Using Intel XTU > Advanced Tuning > Move "Reference Clock" slider to the minimum > Tick "Force Reboot" and Apply

    Capture.PNGCapture.PNG

    5. Computer will reboot immediately

    6. Open Intel XTU and see a warning message, you will now see ALOT more options

    7. Open Predator Sense

    8. Success!

Thanks bro that fixed mine! It had stopped displaying cpu MHz after windows update. Instead of step 2,3 the only change I made is to load the new profile in advanced, 7700 for my series found in the predator folder/plugs 7700txu and it failed to load also.  Then back to killing.
