B286hk UHD 4k2k monitor - Problem with setting to 3840*2160 resolution

Hi. I can not set the resolution to 3840*2160 on a B286K monitor. My computer is a Dell Percision m 4700 with an NVIDIA quadro 2000k graphic card on a windows 7 professional 64 bit and and I am using the display port( which is able to provide that resolution at 60 Hz rate).

The problem is that computer does not recognize monitor to have 3840*2160 and gives a maximum of 1920*1080. The display driver is generic pnp monitor and does not change even when I install Acer provided B286HK driver for windows 7 64 bit.

Once an Acer support agent, drive me through a number of steps including power draining of monitor (pression power button for 30 seconds) and a few restarts and it worked. But I did not succeed to redo it and my second try with acer support failed as the support agent and her manager were neither knowledgable enough to know their product nor respectful to seek a better technical help for me.

    ashoj,

Look over this article and see if it helps you understand how to install the monitor drivers we have on our website.

Did this monitor have a Display Port cable in the packaging when you opened it? If not, please make sure that the Display Port cable you are using is Display Port 1.2, HDMI 2.0 also supports 4K resolutions.

    ashoj,

Just to ask and make sure, when downloading the drivers from our website did you make sure to click the drop down box and choose the Windows 8 64-bit version?

In order to install the drivers on Windows 10 you have to stop it checking for digital signatures.  This is the only way I was able to get around the Windows 10 error message.  An "elevated command prompt" is just an Admin command prompt.  Right click the windows icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen and select "Command Prompt (Admin)".  Don't know why they didn't just stay that...  You have to pay MS for digitally signed drivers.  Acer is obviously too cheap or not financially able to do this.

To disable driver signature enforcement permanently in Windows 10, you need to do the following:
    1. Open an elevated command prompt instance.
    2. Type/paste the following text: bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on.
    3. Restart Windows 10.

It's also in troubleshooting options, what is the driver that I am able to use, as I tried it with the windows 8 driver and that didn't solve anything

I have Windows 10 64 and selected that version to download. Unzipped it and then updated the driver manually.

PLEASE HELP. I am stuck at 1920x1080 resolution.

I have the same issue. I have a nvidia geforce gtx 285 that supports
    Maximum Digital Resolution
    2560x1600
    Maximum VGA Resolution
    2048x1536
I did a clean install of the drivers for Nvidia.

I tried installing the win 7 as well as win 8 64bit driver from Acer website.
    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5458?b=1
The windows still defaults to "generic PnP monitor".

I have searched all the web for the last 6 hours with no apparent solution.

Rehaca, do you have the same monitor model as the original poster? That's from three years ago...
