Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me more about 'coolboost' in the Predatorsense app and what it does exactly? I read the little pop-up when you hover your mouse over the icon but what it says is vague, the fans seem to spin the same no matter if its on or off while gaming. Thank you

normally the fan will reduce/increase the speed if idle or running heavy programs.

So it's basically a manual toggle, the laptop will function the same with it on or off if it needs to? It doesn't really do anything special I can leave it off and the laptop will cool the same under heavy usage?

I think it's best to leave the toggle on for this app.  I have mine on all the time...better fan profile is what I gather.

Yes Sir I do.  Yes I'm pretty avid gamer and it certainly can't hurt to add a little better cooling when you are rocking a demanding game.

Congratulations on your Helios Laptop!  Thing looks awesome!

Finally found the quote button. Yea it's nice to have the best cooling while gaming, this thing really can spit out some heat. And thank you, I'm really liking this laptop it's quite a beast.

    Hi Guys,

My Helios 300 arrived today. I love this thing. In 'Predator Sense', my fans are set to auto. Does anyone know at what point they get enabled? Mine are both at zero RPM. I'm only browsing right now, and the CPU temp is only 34 degrees, so maybe they kick in when the system is under heavy load? Forgive my naivety here.....never owned a gaming laptop before.

I don't know exactly what makes the fans kick on or off but I see mine constantly at 0 rpm while doing light web browsing etc. Seems to be somewhere around the 40c mark they will kick on but I think it just has to do with processor load. Anyway as long as the fans spin up while gaming you're fine.

As long as the laptop is plugged in you would want this on. the cooler your can keep your laptop the less likley it is to cause damage to your battery as prolonged exposure to heat will degrade the health of your battery
