Aspire ES1-512
I've reset my laptop due to poor performance and now I have no mouse/touchpad.
I've tried the fn and f7 with no joy.
Also, no touchpad appears in the bios when I click f2 on start up.
I've copied the touchpad device onto a disk from another laptop, installed it but the mouse is still not working.
Any ideas please?

Hi,
Which OS are you using? Did you try installing the driver from Acer support site for your touchpad?

Windows 10
I've downloaded the driver onto a disk from another laptop, ran the set up but still no mouse driver shows.0 -
Hi,
Could you please go to Device manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices and post the snip.
Go to Settings, Devices and click Touchpad in the left pane, do you see the touchpad switched on.

Hi
There is no 'mice and other pointing devices.
There's keyboard and then monitors. Nothing in between.0 -
Hi,
It's better to backup your important Docs, Pics and oother important files to another hard drive, then you could try system restore to a previous date when it was working properly or do a repair install.

Sorry for not being clear.
I have saved my docs/files etc to a USB stick.
I have done a full factory reset and there are no previous working installs because of this.
I force the windows updates and it just times out and says unable to update. Press to retry. It then does the same thing0 -
Can anybody help with this or is it resigned to the bin?
I've done another full factory reset and still have no mouse0 -
Hi,
Sorry, I have run out of ideas but please wait for someone else to chime in.

Thanks for trying.
I've bought a portable mouse for £6 which works fine for now.
Hopefully, somebody will find a solution for the touchpad driver0 -
