Hey everyone! So i recently have gotten an acer predator 17 gaming laptop and recently when i would close my lid on my laptop, i can still hear the fan running and when i open the lid the computer is ON and the LED lights are also on but the screen is black and wont get out of hibernate or sleep and the only way to get it to turn on again is to shutdown the laptop by holding the power button and turning it back on. Is there anyone out there that could help me fix this problem? Would be very appreciated thanks! Smiley Happy

    Hi,

Disconnect from mains(Remove AC adapter), follow the instructions for battery reset in this video, after completion leave the laptop to rest for a while before starting.

Did you recently update to Windows 10 1703 (creators update)?  There's several threads on microsoft's technet forums talking about laptops refusing to wake from sleep after this update, but they look to be related to drivers that do not function properly after 1703.

I would try updating all your drivers (I prefer using the manufacturers' drivers for almost all components rather than Acer's) and seeing if that fixes the issue, if not, you may have to either turn off sleep/hibernate in your power options completely or revert back to an earlier version of Windows 10.

    Hello,

I've had the same problem before but it was on my HP gaming laptop (HP Envy)

What I did was go onto Nvidia's site and redownload the graphics driver. Goto --> http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk
Or search Nvidia Graphic Driver download on Google.

This should fix your problem. If it doesn't, then are you using Windows 10? If you are, download the driver from the windows website. If this doesn't work, contact Windows on their website. It should be free (it was for me) as their software is bugged.
I would recommend contacting Windows support before Asus support (HP support took several hours to Windows 10 minutes and HP didn't even fix the problem...)
    Hope this helps
