ACER ESPIRE ES15.... ES1 521 62EC

When starting the laptop goes straight to BIOS

I press

f9>f10 (to save and exit) still goes straight to BIOS

I have moved the boot sequence up/down (sideways...LOL) still the same

If I press f10, wait until screen goes blank then quickly press f12.........it BOOTS into win10 and all is normal

I took the back (strewth what a performance, I swear the cips were welding on) to remove the HD battery to replace, because searching I see that if the time/date is wrong this can happen as the HD cant remember the sequence but I simply cannot find the battery, and the time and date are correct on the laptop.

Ive malware/adaware/hitman/win defender/Ccleaner, removed wires from main battery and waited 5 mins...all still the same on boot up.

Not many out there withthe same problem as me.....any help please?

    Hi

Isn't F10 the boot sequence selection?

Perhaps the Legacy /EFI setting is the wrong way around.  Therefore no boot device is detected.

legacy etc etc is right way round

windows boot manager is 1st on the list

BUT even if I make the HDD 1st as boot, on startup it goes staright into BIOS.

I cant seem to find the CMOS battery, but time and date are correct and have been since purchase in 2015

    I can boot if i press f12

even restore (f9) on BIO still wont boot into windows (10)

Ive downloaded updates from acer on the BIOS
    I'm fully updated on win10

Ive downloaded BIOS virus scanner...found nothing

However i just noticed that I cant do a capital letter S using the shift key...(i read somewhere that a stuck key could hinder the start up

    Hi.

I have a ES15. I changed the HDD for an SSD. Installed with UEFI, GPT, etc. Everything ok, but now it only boots to bios. I tested several combinations (uefi, legacy, secure boot off, on) but nothing happens, just boots to bios.

If I press F12 I can go to windows, but its not the right way.

    Any ideas?
