Acer predator 15 G9-593 - Overclocking the display?

Is it possible to overclock the display to lets say 75hz or even 100hz?

If yes, how well does the overclocked display work with g-sync? Are there any problems?

Thank you very much...

It depends on the pannel, on the 17" predators (G5 and G9 793 have the same pannel) you can. Try to increase the refresh and see what happens.

And, don't you have 75Hz by default?

Only the Predator 17 series has 75Hz panels.  The 15 inch versions are all 60 afaik, at least mine is.

I know that the 75Hz displays can be overclocked to 100Hz stable. I don't think you can overclock your refresh rate at all. I had Predator with a display of 60Hz and couldn't overclock it even to 61Hz.

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Uh, thats bad. Any plans from Acer to update these models with a 15" IPS G-Sync 120hz?

120Hz refresh rate and IPS would lift the price of this device quite a lot, meaning less people will buy it, so I don't think they will do it very soon.

    LCD pannels are cheap....under 100$

You could add a 4k pannel on the g5-793/g9-793 for 50...60usd, but without a GTX 1080 it would be hard to get 60+ fps

Also, this 75Hz+ pannels are ussualy not IPS, they AMVA or something.
