Aspire 9410 laptop

I have an Aspire 9410-2028 that is running Vista Home Premium with 1GB of memory (2x512KB). I would like to upgrade to Windows 7 but I am getting conflicting info about how much memory the laptop can support. I know that Windows 7 can support up to 4GB of memory but have been told that this model will not support more than 2GB (1GB max per slot). Since it is beyond the warranty period I would need to pay Acer for this info. Has anyone successfully upgraded an Aspire 9410 series laptop to 4GB???

The Aspire 9410 is upgradable to 4 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory, using two soDIMM modules (dual-channel support).

Thank you. Most of the stores selling memory don't seem to agree with this but I'm going to give it a try.

You can try the system scanner tool at www.crucial.com to see what they recommend.
