I need the optical drive part number for my new Aspire E5-573-5653, I bought it for my son without realizing it did not have one. I would love to buy it and install it. Thanks.

I was just told by the parts department that there is no way to connect a drive to the motherboard, despite the list you gave me. Which is it, is it possible to add a drive or not?

Hello,
Strange! This german model is equipped with the same motherboard and it has an ODD module.
You can check yourself:
- Remove the screw from the base cover and located in the axle of the dummy ODD
- Remove the dummy ODD
- Check if you see a connector in the bottom and on the motherboard.
I'm 100% sure you'll find a connector.

I called yesterday and they said I could not add a drive. I called again today and they did not recognize these part numbers. This is very frustrating, all I want to do is buy parts for my new laptop.
