Came home today to find my laptop off with no charger light. Replugged the charger in and the light came back on

On pressing the power button; the power light went on
Then off along with the charger light
I can audibly hear the hard drive start to spin then stop

Sound like your battery isn't good.  To test out your battery, you need to out your battery and plug your charger back into the computer.  Turn your computer on.  If your computer boots up then its your battery.  If not then you need to return the computer back where you bought it.

    Hi Reed,

How old is your laptop? Is it still in warranty period?

    You can try the following:

    • Let’s proceed with a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug your AC adapter. Now, press the Power button for at least 20 sec and try to reboot your system.
    • Check the performance of AC Adapter: Remove the battery from your laptop and power your laptop only with the AC Adapter and check if your laptop will boot or not. Also, try to do the same with the different AC adapter having the same voltage.
    • If the above option doesn’t work, then try reseating a RAM.
    • You can also try connecting it to an External monitor and check if you’ll get display from it. If you find a display, then it means that the problem is with your Monitor.
    • But, if you didn’t find a display on an External monitor, it means that the problem is with the Motherboard.

Kindly check the above points and acknowledge.

    Good Luck!
