SSD Slot for R5-571TG?
Hello
I have already seen some posts about the "mystery port" in the 571TG... People are saying that its a SSD Port.
After i have seen that, i went to Acer chat support and asked if that is really a SSD Slot and they told me that the 571TG does not have a SSD Slot/Port.
So if it is not that, then what is that empty Port/Slot?? Can someone explain me?
I will add some pictures.

Hi,
You may even use a NVMe SSD as you have Gen3x2 NVMe controller in your model, you need to confirm it with the Maximum Link Width value(2X as in my snip) shown in HWiNFO64 as I have mentioned in my previous post.

Hi,
It looks like a M.2 slot but can not confirm, I will look for it's details, in the meantime, could you please install HWiNFO64, expand Bus, expand PCI Express Ports and post the snip.
EDIT: I can confirm that you have M.2 SSD slot.

Wow if i can use those type of SSD's, that would be amazing because right now my laptop only has 1 HDD and no SSD which really disappoints me.

Hi,
Could you please expand Root Port 9 and 12 as well as this Port is already being implemented, just want to know the Max.Link width of those ports.

I just asked acer live support if my laptop supports SSD and suddenly they tell me that it is possible. Last time about 2 weeks ago they told me that because i dont have a disk drive, i couldnt put a SSD in my laptop... Doesnt make any sense and this is why i asked the forums.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the snips, you can install NVMe SSD but I want to make sure that you have an unused port, you have to expand each port and find out the contents of them to find out which ports using WiFi, Realtek etc, like my snip below.

Hi,
Yes, you can install a NVMe SSD and it will work with 2 channels enabled, the speed will be half the maximum speed advertised by the SSD manufacturers but still roughly three times the speed of normal SATA M.2 SSD.

Hi, it's a wonderfull news !!
One more question ... M.2 SSD NVMe 3 x4 like
Samsung 950 PRO Series - 256GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V5P256BW) or
Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E250BW)
do you think that in spite they are gen 3 x4 works properly ? I don´t worry about the speed, (alwways will be faster than HDD) only i need to know if its compatible ...
Thank you very much in advance, for your assistance !!
