Touchpad stopped working

My touchpad has stopped working all of a sudden. I've used Windows 10 for some time. The touch screen still works and I've downloaded the latest Synaptics driver but doesn't make any difference.

I have tried going into advance options in Mouse & Touchpad setting, as others have suggested but I don't have any ELAN tab. I have also installed this driver from ACER after I entered my serial number.

ANy help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What does Device Manager say about the touchpad?

@EuanH Try to install intel I/O Serial Drivers. Download from Acer drivers. Search your type of laptop and download it. Install it and follow the instruction.
