Firstly i love this monitor to bits, puts every other screen i have owned to shame.

But has anoyone else experienced what i can only describe as screen burn on this monitor? Its not just limited to the windows desktop, also present in games which is very nauseating. It does go away eventually, but always comes back depending on what has been on my screen the longest that morning (sometimes a whole page of a word document)

Images of what it looks like

It is bit hard to get a good shot with phone camera its much worse in reality.

The screen is only a year and a half old and cost $1200 NZD so fingers crossed there is a fix for this or Acer can sort me out with a replacement, i didnt even know that LCD panels could get screen burn.

Edit: Got a good shot of how bad it really is http://imgur.com/a/gGVbI

Finally after 1.5 months the saga is over, i have been issued a store credit letter by Acer.  Will accept this as solution and thread can be closed.

Have gone through Acer websupport, updated drivers and still this

Now been sent off for repair at my own risk, they are still not confident that its the screen at fault even though other screens are fine with my PC.

Panel in my screen was replaced and the ghosting/image retention issue is resolved Smiley Happy

Sadly the replacement panel has 13 dead pixles and 1 bright pixel.......   http://imgur.com/a/eily8  Smiley Sad

Waiting on a callback from Acer support to see if they will do anything about this as this number of dead pixels is well beyond the realm of 'reasonable' in a $1200 screen.

what! I thought screen burning is 1980s era problem. So do we still need screensavers..

It was a defective panel, the tech said it was 'image retention' rather than screen burn and it does happen in very rare cases.

Screen has been sent off for a full replacement now, following the image retention and now dead pixel issues.

Fingers crossed the replacement is ok, i went through hell to get my first panel with minimal back light bleed and only one dead pixel...
