I have an Acer Iconia A700 tablet.  The tablet is fine except for two problems that  are   of very poor design and unless I can solve one of them, I will never buy aniything made by Acer ever again!

1.  The tablet end of the power cord has a custom half-moon shape, instead of the rectangular shape of all other brands.  Allso the  tip of the power cord breaks off repeatedly and I have purchased about 5 cords by now  Is there a better solution for this from some manufacturer?

2.  Also, I understand that the recepticle for the power cord in the tablet is integral to the mother board so if the recepticle fails, the whole motherboard has to be replaced.  For that reason, I wold not buy another Acer tablet unless that design feature was fixed.

    A700 was a very old device and

    1. on newer tablets microUSB is the standard connection for AC charger, USB-C is the future; so no need to fix this issue, since the A700 type of connection is outdated;
    2. This is a very standard design on 99,99% of brands, not only Acer does this.
    I'm not an Acer employee.

    I would not worry about the tablet as it says in the solution Acer products become obsolete so quickly that repairs are unnecessary.

     Along those lines I suppose support and updates are also not a big concern.

    I am surprised by a community that considered the initial reply to this post to be a solution.

    I am also sure that the Kudo given was not from the customer asking for help.

    This post was written on an "old " a 700 tablet.

    Thank you BadwolfX for iyour comment.  I am very disappointed in Acer for being stuck with a tablet with a lousy connection design that breaks.  Their customer service was non-existent.  Buyers beware!
