So yesterday I bought the new g3 predator computer with the predator monitor and I was setting things up when I realized that my mic that is a part of my kraken headphones was not working. How do I make it so my headphone mic is registered as a mic to be used? Also my monitor seems to make notification noises occansionally, how do I mute that or remove it? Please answer with all due haste.

    ok

are you using the splitter adapter on your headphones?

    with headphones plugged

right click the speaker icon near clock and date, choose playback devices

    which one is the default?

    which devices are listed?

then click on the Recording tab

    which devices are listed?

I had suspected as much. I used a laptop just before buying this and I only needed to use the headphone jack for it to register as a mic and headset. So I need to plug the jack into the extension part and plug the red/pink one and the green one into the appropriate holes in the back?
