Hi,

I have recently brought a V5-591g-53hv model of Aspire series. However, It doesn't come with an SSD drive pre-installed even though as per as I know it contains an M.2 SSD port. I need following info to be confirmed before I buy an SSD -

- What is specification of the M.2 port, i.e: size(mm) and key type

- Can this drive be used as a bootable drive?

Regards.

    Hello,

    No problems!

    Your laptop supports one SSD M.2 2280 (22x80mm) - SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) and PCIEx4 => key M

    1. Here are the original models of SSD:
      Spoiler
      Lite-on L9G series
      Toshiba HG6 series (E.g. THNSNJ256G8NU)
    2. Here are some compatible models according to your budget:

    You'll need this screw to fix it:

    86.MQPN7.004 - SCREW.M2X3.BIG HEAD

  • Hello,

    Could you give me the first ten characters of the computer serial number (S/N)? Only the first ten.

    Hi there,

    will this ssd fit into my acer, the same modell v5-591g?

    256GB Intel 600p M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 32Gb/s 3D-NAND TLC Toggle (SSDPEKKW256G7X1)

    The main question would be: will it also boot?

    as I'm planing to use it as boot device.

    Thanks!

  • Hi luci84tm,

    FYI, all original SSDs are SATA 3.0. There is no informations about the compatibility with the NVMe interface.

    Hi laurent,

    This i s very confusing now as you mentioned in you comment twice PCIe:
    "Your laptop supports one SSD M.2 2280 (22x80mm) - SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) and PCIEx4 => key M"
    The PCIEx4 is used for what then?

    Thanks!
  • luci84tm,

    To me, it's clear. This means that Acer didn't check the compatibility with SSDs PCIe X4 (NVMe).

    Laurent,

    "Acer doesn't check the compatibility with SSDs PCIe X4 (NVMe)." means only SATA 3  is supported for the m.2 SSD?
    So I cannot use a PCIeX4 SSD (NVMe)..
    Sorry for stressing this point, but I think clarifying this one will help future people coming across this topic..

    Thanks for you patience!
