Acer Predator G3-710 - Which PDF instructions to follow to update BIOS?

I just downloaded the latest BIOS update.

It comes with 4 folders. One of them contains 2 PDF files.

One is called "EFI Flash SOP(x64) v1.2",

the other "Win Flash Utility SOP v1.2".

Am I supposed to follow the instructions in both files?
If so, which one should I start with?

Can someone confirm this?

Thanks in advance,

JDL

First of all check which BIOS version is installed on your PC:

    microsoft logo key + r

    type

    msinfo32

    check BIOS DATE/Version string.

if you version is R01-xx you can't updated using R02-xx flasher, so no Kabylake support

if your version is R02-xx you can update and you need to follow WIN flash utility procedure

    Thank you IronFly Smiley Happy

Apparentely I will stay with R01 then.

I was hoping that by updating the BIOS, Ubuntu would have access to an NTFS partition shared with Windows 10. I never had a problem doing that before. At least not as long as both Fast Startup and Hibernate were off in Win10. And they are. But Ubuntu still says either one is on and I need to turn it off. It does also advise to use chkdsk in Win10 to fix it. I did, but it didn't find anything wrong.

    Anyway, sorry for digressing ...
