Hi

My W1-810 will not turn on anymore. There is no indication at all on the display. During charging, i can feel that it is getting a bit warmer on the backside, so i guess somthing is going on in there. I have tried other chargers, and same chargers on other devices and here they work.

Could it be a defect battery now?

Is it possible to buy and replace the battery?

It has of course just past the standard warrenty period :-(

I managed to open it. It is actually not the battery that feels warmer, but the metal enclosure left of the battery, so i guess something has burned off under that casing.

Try disconnecting the battery, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and try turning it on again. If it boots or tries to boot then we can work from that. If there is still nothing try going into a recovery boot (IIRC it's press and hold the volume up [or down] then while holding that press and hold the power button until the text starts showing). If still nothing then I'm afraid you've likely got toast. Smiley Sad

Already tried that, and no luck. The metal enclosure is still getting warm, after reconnecting the battery.

I *think* that metal shield is the top surface of the cooling module, and it should get warm since the processor and chipset are under it. It shows power is getting to the chipset, but that doesn't mean that things are running. I wonder if it's the display? You have a microHDMI port on that model, right? Can you try to hook it to a monitor?

There is no HDMI out on this model.
