Possible to run Iconia One 10 unencrypted?

I've been poking Google, and a few forums like Android Forums and xda for an answer to this. I can't change the setting to shut off encryption at all. I'd imagine it would improve performance and free some memory, considering it has 1 GB of system RAM onboard. I'm early in the process of having this tablet, so I'll probably give MyBackup a quick run at backing up some user apps, then factory resetting the thing to see if that helps.

Anyone have other ideas to turn off encryption which doesn't require rooting?

If the option is available you should be able to turn off encryption. Here are a couple links that have info on this that you might find helpful:

I looked into those articles. Thanks for sending the links. I did a factory reset, and it appears that doesn't work at all. I still can't turn off the option to encrypt, and let the device sit for a while to unencrypt itself. I'm guessing it's hardcoded onto the kernel for this tablet.

So far, I haven't run into any major problems... except for the facebook and twitter apps. With twitter, turning off image previews, video autoplay, and increasing the background updates to four hours or more fixes some memory/CPU issues. As most users should know by now, the facebook app's constant wakelocks sometimes slows devices down.

It's handy to have the EZ Utilities memory cleaner aboard. I use it before playing some 3D games.
